The frame has Z87+ moulded into the temple or bridge; the lens has it etched in a corner. Plenty of glasses pair a rated lens with an unrated frame, which is worthless in an impact, so look at the frame. Ours come with both rated and a certificate of compliance.

Yes, polycarbonate or Trivex straight into the frame at the same Z87+ standard, side shields or not. The shields slide onto the temples and stay clear of the lens; keep them on if you need OSHA compliance at work.

The insert is polycarbonate to the high-impact standard; the full ballistic rating belongs to the assembled system, frame plus outer shield plus insert, on frames like the XL-1, SG-1 and Valor. Check the certification label on the specific model.

No. Each insert is cut to one model's curve, bridge height and tilt. We order the insert to match the frame you buy; they don't move between models.

No. Welding shades can't be made as prescription lenses. Wear a prescription insert under the welding helmet, or contacts with a passive shield. For grinding and chipping we can supply clear prescription safety glasses.

With difficulty. A deep ballistic wrap with a two-lens insert is the hardest place to put a progressive, and for most tactical frames we recommend single vision. The Valor can take a low-add progressive (to +2.00) in a short-corridor digital design if the PD and insert are set carefully.
