Can every Ray-Ban style accept prescription lenses?

Almost every current one, the RB2140 Wayfarer, RB3025 Aviator and RB2180 Clubmaster included. The Aviator needs a particular bevel to sit in the rim properly; we use genuine Ray-Ban blanks so the edge looks like the original.

Do I receive genuine Ray-Ban prescription lenses with the etched logo?

If you order Ray-Ban Authentic lenses, yes: ground by Luxottica, with the small etched logo in the corner. If you choose our own lenses instead, for a tint Ray-Ban doesn't offer or for speed, there's no etching.

What is the Ray-Ban RB lens grading system?

RB1 is darkest, category 3, the classic G-15 and B-15 at about 15% light transmission. RB3 is medium, often gradient or flash mirror. RB5 is light, the fashion colours. In prescription we match the original grade or go darker or lighter if you prefer.

Are Ray-Ban Aviators and Wayfarers suitable for high prescriptions?

Better than most sunglasses, because both are fairly flat. The catch is size: a 62 mm Aviator gets thick and heavy at the edges on a strong minus. Go down to the 55 Aviator or the 50 Wayfarer and use 1.67 or 1.74 high-index above about ±4.00. We'll estimate edge thickness if you send your prescription.

Do Ray-Ban Wayfarers fit wide faces?

The original RB2140 tilts forward and runs narrow. For a wider face, the Justin (RB4165) or New Wayfarer (RB2132) are a size up with a softer shape. Compare the lens and bridge numbers to a pair that fits you.

Can I get prescription in Ray-Ban's Reverse, Erika, or Chromance lenses?

Reverse lenses are convex the wrong way and have to be made by Ray-Ban's lab with their own compensation. Erika works best in 1.67 high-index to keep the big lens thin. Chromance comes in prescription in a few colours as genuine Ray-Ban lenses, not a tint we add.

Are Ray-Ban clip-ons compatible with prescription Ray-Ban frames?

Only their own: each Ray-Ban clip is cut to one frame, the RB5228 with its clip and so on, hooking onto the bridge and lens corners. We don't recommend generic clips; they scratch the lens and sit off-centre. The product page says which frame each clip fits.
