Half-Rim
Half-rim eyeglasses or Browline glasses as the frame is only on the top part of the lenses. The lens may be notched to hold the lens in place, or a piece of mono-filament nylon line secures them in place around the bottom of the lens in a groove. Other variations of the half-rim eyeglasses version, known as browline glasses, are the frameless bottom part with only the upper portion of the lens were secured by heavy duty hinges attached to sturdy or flexible temples. Another type affixed to the glass using magnetized nose bridges and arches, making it look virtually frame-less. However, all quality features of the rimless version are also the quality features of the Semi-Rimless Eyeglasses. Browline glasses features include a lens with coatings for polarized, photochromic, 100% ultraviolet rays resistant, fog-free and scratch-proofing.
