South Africa X Nike Reveal Football Kits

Nike and the South African Football Association (SAFA) just unveiled the new home and away football kits, which will be worn for the national team during the African Cup of Nations this upcoming January, 2015. "We are very proud of our new kit which reflects the pride of our nation and the future of great football. Bafana Bafana are shining through to the African Cup of Nations and the new kit is an inspirational one, pushing the team to fight against past missed opportunities, while reflecting on past accomplishments," said Danny Jordaan, President, South African Football Association.

The kits are not only designed with an exquisite fit that was created from a three-dimensional body scan of the players, but are made with the most technological features. Nike's Dri-FIT technology is made with fabrics that wick away moisture from the skin as the body sweats, and evaporating it into the air - leaving the players remaining dry and cooled off. On the environmental side of things, each kit is made out of recycled polyester, and on average includes 18 recycled plastic bottles - keeping the shorts at 100% for recycled material and the jersey's at 96%. Sustainability efforts are a high priority for Nike, and since 2010 they have used almost 2 billions bottles from landfills, which would be enough to cover more than 2,800 full-sized football fields.
