What lens colour for ball sports?
Amber, rose or vermilion. They lift the ball against grass, clay or sky and help with fly balls. Polarized splits opinion: it cuts glare, but some players say it hides spin. Photochromic works if you play through changing light.
Are these safety rated?
Some are. Wiley X, Pyramex and the Oakley sport line carry the Z87+ stamp; that's what we'd recommend for competitive play, where a ball or paddle to the face is a real risk. For a weekend game, ASTM F803 sport-impact frames are enough.
Which frames do pickleball players buy?
