Night Driving Eyeglasses FAQ
What tint is best for daytime and night driving?
Day: grey or brown, polarized, to cut road and dashboard glare without changing colours. Night: clear or a light yellow with a good anti-reflective coat. Never a dark tint at night; it doesn't reduce glare, it just hides the road.
Are polarized lenses good for driving?
In daylight, yes. They kill glare off the road and the dashboard. Two caveats: some older LCD dashboards look dark through them, and they cut too much light for night driving. For the dark, clear non-polarized lenses with AR.
Do night driving glasses really work?
For some people. A light yellow tint lifts contrast and takes the edge off headlight glare; it doesn't give you better night vision. They're cheap enough to try. If night driving is a real problem, see your optometrist first; it's often a prescription issue.
