Ideal computer eye strain glasses features an effective anti-reflective technology. The computer eyeglasses' anti-reflective coating must completely resist the glare emitted by the computer screens and monitors. Computer eye strain glasses absolutely has to defy ultraviolet light rays particularly the very harmful blue light rays. Blue light rays like those found on fluorescent lights and computer monitors and screens are high risk in developing the aged old related condition called ‘macular degeneration’ which disrupts the regular circadian rhythm of our eyes. What are computer glasses?

Glasses set for the distance to a screen, about 60 to 70 cm, with an anti-reflective coat and usually a blue-light filter. If you already wear progressives, a dedicated computer pair spares you tilting your head back to find the intermediate zone.

Do I need a prescription for them?

If you have one, we build the computer pair from it, adjusted for screen distance. If you don't, Gunnar and iChill frames come with a mild magnification and the filter, no prescription needed.

How long does the blue-light filter last?

The better blue-cut coatings are in a hardened layer and typically last the life of the lens (2–3 years) with normal use; abrasive cleaning or harsh chemicals can compromise them sooner. We warranty against peeling/delamination for 1 year.
