Readers FAQ
Readers or prescription glasses?
Readers have the same magnification in both lenses and nothing for astigmatism, so they suit people whose eyes need roughly the same power. If your two eyes differ, or you have astigmatism, a prescription pair will be noticeably clearer.
What are reader sunglasses?
Sunglasses with a small reading segment low in the tinted lens. The Tifosi Crit, Rivet and Veloce here are the cyclist's and golfer's version: read the bike computer or scorecard without switching glasses.
How do I pick the power?
Use the ADD number on your last prescription. No prescription? Most people in their 40s are at +1.00 to +1.50, 50s at +1.75 to +2.25, over 60 at +2.50 and up. Between two, take the lower.
